Where to Eat Near Fort Lauderdale Beach

When my guests email me before their stay, the most common question is some version of: "Where should we eat that we can walk to from the beach?" Here's the list I send them.

Fort Lauderdale Beach has the rare combination of A1A views, deep-water Intracoastal docks, and walkable strips where you can actually have a great meal without leaving your sandals on the floor of the rental car.

These six spots are reliable, well-reviewed, and a mix of price points. Reservation tips are at the bottom of each — Fort Lauderdale is a real reservation town, especially November through April.

Casablanca Cafe

3049 Alhambra St · Mediterranean · Direct Beach Views

A historic 1920s Mediterranean Revival house with a wraparound porch that looks directly at the Atlantic. The menu has its own identity — Cuban-Spanish-Mediterranean fusion, fresh seafood, and a piano bar that runs most nights.

Tell them Jonathan's House sent you. Request a porch table. Sunset and sunrise both work — yes, breakfast is a thing here.

Coconuts

429 Seabreeze Blvd · Waterfront Casual · Dock & Dine

A few blocks off the beach and right on the Intracoastal. Tiki-bar energy, raw bar, grouper sandwiches, and a deck that fills up fast on Friday and Saturday. Casual, loud, fun.

Tell them Jonathan's House sent you. If you have boats nearby, this is the spot to dock and dine. By car, plan for the valet — street parking is tough.

S3 (Sun Surf Sand)

1000 Seabreeze Blvd · Modern American · Beachfront

A polished beachfront spot at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. Modern American menu with sushi, an outdoor patio, and one of the better cocktail programs on the beach side.

Tell them Jonathan's House sent you. Happy hour is real here and runs Monday through Friday. Patio first, then move inside if it's busy.

Lobster Bar Sea Grille

450 E Las Olas Blvd · Upscale Seafood · Reservations Required

Technically Las Olas (not directly on the beach), but a 10-minute drive and worth every bit of the trip. The Maine lobster mac and cheese is the dish guests text me about. Tablecloth dining, elevated bar program.

Tell them Jonathan's House sent you. Book at least a week ahead for a Friday or Saturday. Bar seating is first-come-first-served and works on Tuesday/Wednesday nights.

Pelican Landing

2000 N Ocean Blvd · Beachfront Casual · Pelican Grand Beach Resort

Open-air beachfront dining at the Pelican Grand. Better than "hotel restaurant" implies — fresh ceviche, raw bar, grilled fish, and a view of the Atlantic that's hard to beat for lunch. Sand-between-toes friendly.

Tell them Jonathan's House sent you. Lunch is the play. Outdoor tables fill up fast — get there by 12:30 PM in season.

Sea Level Restaurant & Ocean Bar

505 N Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd · Coastal Cuisine · Atlantic Hotel

Inside the Atlantic Hotel directly on A1A. Coastal seafood, raw bar, and ocean-view terrace seating. Cleaner, quieter alternative to the beachfront party spots — good for couples and families.

Tell them Jonathan's House sent you. Sit on the second-floor terrace for the best view. Sunset cocktails here are a guest favorite.

Reservation reality check: Fort Lauderdale's busy season is November through April. Outside of that window, walk-ins are usually fine at lunch and early dinner. November to April, book.

A few honorable mentions for next visit: 15th Street Fisheries (Intracoastal docks, fish market), The Knife (Argentinian steakhouse, Pier 66), and Eduardo de San Angel (high-end Mexican, away from the beach but exceptional).
